You’ll clutch your pearls over these String of Pearls’!
The Senecio rowleyanus is native to Southwest Africa and is commonly called String of Pearls or String of Beads. The Variegated String of Pearls is a harder to find variety showcasing splashes of pink and white. They also produce pinkish flowers as opposed to the white ones on the regular String of Pearls. The String of Pearls gets its name from its small pea-shaped leaves. Its trailing stems can grow up to 2-3 feet long. The pea-shaped leaves is an adaption to its natural arid environment and allow for storage of water while exposing a minimum amount of surface area to the dry desert air.
This variegated form is slightly slower growing than the regular green one and takes longer to root when propagating. Variegation will differ from plant to plant and we cannot guarantee that every plant have complete Variegation.
